About
Hello, welcome to my personal website.
This is Zhao Junbo (赵俊博), and if you prefer, you can also call me Lin Cui (林璀). The latter is the name of the leading character in a novel I began writing at the age of 14, after the high school entrance examination. While this character is not a reflection of myself (indeed, he surpasses me in many ways), I frequently immersed myself in his perspective during the writing process, pouring into him beautiful imaginations that defy human nature. As a result, I have adopted this name as my pen name ever since.
Hobby: Writing
As mentioned above, I truly enjoy writing and have actively pursued it. Even though my grades in Chinese examinations have always been poor, it has never stopped me from loving reading and writing. In other words, I appreciate Chinese, but intensely dislike the boring and illogical Chinese exams.
I read my first web novel when I was in middle school, which sparked the idea of writing myself. Soon after, I put this idea into practice by creating my first work on the Qidian Chinese Website (起点中文网), based on a children’s online game Seer. Although my early work was quite immature, it still gained a group of readers. I could still remember that I even established a reader group with over a hundred members at that time. Besides, I also collaborated with other authors and created some interconnected stories. And I was even invited to sign a contract by Qidian Chinese Website.
Why do I like writing? The main reason is that by creating an entirely new world with my pen, I can transcend the limits of human cognition and do things that are impossible in real life. Turning my creativity and imagination into words, making them a reality that can be carried and deeply contemplated, brings me immense fulfillment. In fact, the reason I enjoy scientific research is similar to this.
Unfortunately, as life and studies become increasingly busy, my writing frequency has gradually decreased, but I still continue to create. Currently, I have completed over 300,000 words of writing.
Hobbies in Sports
If I were to choose my favorite sport, I would pick Go (a traditional Chinese board game). I learned it for several years at a youth center when I was a child and participated in several official youth Go tournaments in Jilin Province, even winning two bronze medals. If you’re also interested in Go, we can find some time to play a match together.
I also enjoy playing football. This sport is not only competitive but also emphasizes teamwork, which always brings me a sense of commanding an army on the field.
Lastly, I occasionally engage in long-distance running, typically spanning a distance of 10 kilometers. The greatest hurdle I face while running is not physical exhaustion, but rather the battle against monotony. Consequently, I have become a resolute walker, often opting to traverse the city on foot. Walking grants me the opportunity to observe my surroundings and reflect on my thoughts, rendering the experience anything but tedious.
PS: In my leisure time, I also play some games sometimes, such as CFM and Three Kingdoms Kill (三国杀). However, I often sense the malice in the designs of the game developers, so I plan to gradually quit playing.
Reading Preference
My reading interests are diverse, with a particular fondness for novels, especially the full-length ones of Haruki Murakami. I also enjoy books on politics, military affairs, and history. When I was young, I preferred spending my days indoors reading rather than playing outside with other kids.
Music
I like light music and all kinds of background music very much. I tried to learn the piano, recorder and violin, but I didn’t stick to any of them.
Mathematics
I was very good at math during my middle school years. But after entering university, I realized that I am not an expert in mathematics. I am smart, but not that smart. I have been trying to make time to review and learn more about mathematics.
Last But Not Least
My life is always very busy, with a lot of things to do. As a result, I may seem dull, but that’s not the case. In fact, I value and look forward to sharing and communicating with others. Feel free to send me emails regarding both academic and non-academic matters. I will try my best to respond on time.
